about Zephyr

Registered stud logo: NFRS 2012-03 I breed several litters per line each year, all based on my core line which dates back to 2004. I chose to identify them by using the prefix of 'Zephyr' in their names, and Zephyr became an official stud name in January 2012 due to show wins. I'm located in the south of Cambridgeshire, and am a member of the National Fancy Rat Society, the North of England Rat Society, and the London and Southern Counties Mouse and Rat Club.

The NFRS maintains a list of its studs (and other members who breed) as a convenience but doesn't endorse any stud or member. Therefore it accepts no responsibility for any rats, including rescues, homed by me or anyone else. So it is important to satisfy yourself that a breeder you wish to get rats from meets your own expectations, there is a link to a helpful article under the links tab above which suggests what to take into consideration.

My prime objective is to improve my rats with each subsequent generation, and to breed healthy well tempered rats who enjoy being pets (some may also be suitable for showing). Any kittens that I don't keep myself will be available to other homes, subject to vetting by me or by an approved third party. Please contact me for an initial questionnaire if you wish to join my waiting list, and check details of my homing process under the homing tab above.

I currently breed for american mink and american cinnamon, and will get black and agouti too, along with some russian dove and essex. I am also developing double mink and double cinnamon, including pearls. If you are wanting any other varieties, dumbos, or rexes you'll need to look for a different breeder.
