our varieties

Our current breeding plans centre around establishing a line of strong healthy rats exhibiting the american mink gene (also referred to as mock mink), some of whom may be chocolate american minks (which resembles Havana) as we hope to keep chocolate in the line too. Some rats will be agouti based (mink agouti is known as cinnamon). Consequently our litters will include the following varieties:

black
agouti
chocolate

chocolate american cinnamon

Since the originating american minks in these lines carried english blue, it is also possible that english blue, and related varieties such as quicksilver or platinum (american mink and english blue), and lilac (chocolate and english blue) may also crop up from time to time.

Some litters will include dumbos and/or rexes, possibly some irish markings, and most rats will have some degree of silvering which will come and go through their life.

Note that the colours will darken and become richer with age, and agouti based colours develop stronger orange tones in adulthood.
