October 2018: dam - Zephyr Henrietta (american mink)
sire - Zephyr Blueberry Hill (pale british blue dumbo)

litter 2018-HEN : A litter in the platinum and quicksilver line.
Expecting black and american mink, possibly also pale british blue and quicksilver, possibly some chocolate based, some dumbo.
Henrietta
Blueberry
details: 3rd October - mated, kittens due 26th October
24th October - moved into the nursery cage, having gained about 100g
26th October - 12 kittens born early morning
25th November - against all the odds, all three of the paler kittens seem to have turned out to be platinum, and there are no quicksilvers in this litter (if this proves true, I will now have to work out a plan to salvage quicksilvers!)
17th December - now their moults are virtually complete, I must concede that they are quicksilvers after all

I kept most of this litter to help me rebuild my platinum line - buck 1 (E.T.), buck 3 (True Blue), buck 4 (Al Capone), doe 1 (Bella Luna), doe 3 (Oh Lori), and doe 7 (Bluebird).
I was keeping doe 2 as well, but tragically she died on the first day of introductions to Henrietta's group in the cat carrier. There was no obvious cause, and the intro was and carried on going well, so I can only conclude there was some freak accident. I posthumously renamed her Zephyr Shooting Star as her life was so short, she was just 10 weeks old, but had shone so brightly for that time.
